Farsightedness

Hypermetropia

Farsightedness

Hypermetropia is a condition where the eye is shorter than it should be and therefore the rays from the observed object are concentrated behind the focal point, which creates a blurred image. Far sighted people do not see near objects very well and therefore they step away from the observed object.

Treatment

Similar to myopia, treatment depends on the level of dioptric defect. Hypermetropia can be treated using laser surgery, by implantation of phakic lenses or refraction replacement of the lens.
